For Linfield’s Premiership game at home to Ballymena United on Saturday November 9th, the poppy will again be respectfully displayed on the Linfield jerseys worn by the players in action on that particular afternoon.

This welcome and appropriate gesture is a very public tribute to, and act of remembrance towards all those who lost their lives in the World Wars and other conflicts.

A total of 36 blue shirts have been specially commissioned by kit manufacturer and club sponsor, Macron and are available for sponsorship for this year’s Remembrance tribute.

Once David Healy has named his 18 man squad for this game against Ballymena, the relevant players’ names and squad numbers will be printed on the back of the special poppy jerseys. There are 36 poppy shirts available as each player will have two shirts.

Linfield is very keen to support several extremely worthwhile Remembrance related causes through the production of these special Linfield poppy jerseys.

At a cost of only £150 (minimum), you could buy one of these unique Linfield jerseys worn by the players against Ballymena United on this Remembrance weekend. All proceeds after costs will be donated by Linfield to Remembrance related causes.

At present, Linfield cannot guarantee which players will be playing in this particular game and therefore, while supporters may express a preference for which player’s jersey they would like to sponsor, there can be no guarantee that that player will be involved in the game and will therefore have a special poppy shirt produced for him.

Supporters wishing to sponsor a Linfield poppy jersey are asked to ring Gary on 07753608069. Please only ring as texts won’t be replied to.

Gary will take reservations but Linfield reserves the right to substitute your preference for another player, if either your preference has already been selected, or if your choice is not involved in the squad on the day in question.

When in contact with Gary, arrangements must be made for payment of the sponsored shirts and no Linfield poppy shirt will be handed over, unless payment has been made in full.

Linfield will not be making any money from this initiative which is in full support of Remembrance related causes and Linfield expects this to be a hugely popular and well supported move with supporters.

It is therefore very likely that all the jerseys will be sponsored quickly, so if you are interested, you are encouraged to act quickly to avoid potential disappointment.

All reservations will be taken on a first come, first served basis.
