Linfield manager David Healy and first team players Kyle McClean, Joel Cooper, Chris McKee and Charlie Allen paid a pre-Christmas visit after training today, to the club's official long-term charity partner – the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice at their O'Neill Road base and haven in Newtownabbey.
By way of Christmas donation to the Children's Hospice, the club ordered various items for delivery from the Children's Hospice Wish list on Amazon.co.uk and recommends that supporters wishing to assist this most worthwhile cause at this special family time of year join with us in helping to acquire the much-needed items for this wonderful charity.
A pre-match tour at Windsor Park before last Saturday's game against Coleraine raised a cash sum totaling £110 and this donation was handed over in person during today's visit by Linfield manager David Healy to Hospice Fundraising manager Sarah Jewell.
Over a 12-year period of charity partnership with the Children's Hospice, a terrific figure in excess of £50,000 has been raised, either directly by Linfield FC, or by various supporter related activities, to assist the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice provide expert care for children from across our country.
The most recent bucket collection prior to the Glentoran game in October raised over £1370 and the next official bucket collection will take place prior to a post-split league game in April.
The Linfield manager and players were delighted to spend precious time with several children in the Hospice today and they were also quick to praise and thank the carers and staff for all their work in looking after the children who need their care and medical attention.
Linfield FC is immensely proud of our long-standing partnership with the Children's Hospice and encourages our supporters to follow the club's lead in helping the Hospice obtain the items which are much needed to help them provide the best possible facilities and surroundings for these most deserving of children.
