Matchday 22 of the Sports Direct Premiership sees Linfield head over to East Belfast for the traditional Boxing Day ‘Big Two’ clash with Glentoran at The Oval (3pm k.o. sold out).
Glentoran have moved up to 3rd place in the table following wins at Crusaders (3-1) and Cliftonville (2-1) to revive their title aspirations. Manager Declan Devine, who recently signed a new contract, has put his mark on the team after a mass clear out of the squad during the summe and the Glens boss will look to bring some silverware to the club with his team still involved in all 4 domestic competitions.
Linfield increased their lead at the top of the table to 13 points after a 1-0 win over visitors Glenavon. The Blues will be determined to bring a match winning performance to the table for the large contingent of travelling Blues supporters.
It promises to be another feisty and intense derby game between these two great old rivals.
