The first leg of the tie saw Linfield lose 0-1 at Tolka Park to a Shelbourne side deep into their domestic campaign. The Blues, playing their first competitive game of the season, showed great composure and discipline in keeping their shape under some prolonged periods of pressure. The narrow defeat means the tie is delicately poised and it’s a case of all to play for on Wednesday night. Kudos to the travelling Linfield faithful who played their part in the fantastic atmosphere that resonated around Tolka Park.
It promises to be a great occasion at Windsor Park for this North v South European clash as the clubs look to secure a lucrative 2nd Qualifying Round tie. As the teams go head-to-head on the pitch, David Healy MBE and Shelbourne manager Joey O’Brien will be engaging in their own tactical battle on the touchline. The Linfield manager will look to keep it tight as his team homes in on the all-important opening goal of the game.
With match tickets selling like hot cakes, supporters, old and new, are encouraged to get themselves to Windsor Park and cheer The Blues on in a game not to be missed!
