Over the coming month, Linfield Football Club will prepare to remember all of those who lost their lives in various conflicts, including our own former players who made the ultimate sacrifice in two World Wars.
On Saturday 25th October a short Service of Remembrance will be held at the Linfield Memorial in the club offices at Windsor Park. This will commence at 1.30pm and the service will be led by Academy Coach Johnny Jamison with other club officials participating, including the Chaplain Paul Reid. Individual supporters and supporters clubs are welcome to attend and pay their own tributes. The service will conclude at 2.00pm ahead of our Premiership fixture against Ballymena United. Anyone attending this event should arrange to enter the stadium via the Boucher Road and Olympia gate.
On Saturday 8th November, the first team players will wear poppies on their jerseys as a tribute to the Fallen. A short Act of Remembrance will be held before the kick-off in the game against Coleraine with members of the Royal British Legion, local Veterans and Moneyslane Flute band in attendance. A collection will also be held before the game in support of the Poppy Appeal.
Lest We Forget.
