Linfield FC Women are delighted to announce the signing of Northern Ireland international Rachel McLaren from Crusaders. The 23-year-old makes the move across the city from Seaview to Midgley Park ahead of the 2026 season.

Rachel began her career playing in boys’ teams with Ballyclare Colts and Larne
Youth, followed by a brief spell at Carnmoney Ladies. She joined Crusaders at just 11 years of age and has spent the past 12 years progressing through the club’s youth system, earning her place in the first team at only 15.

On the international stage, Rachel has represented Northern Ireland, earning her first senior cap in an 11–0 victory over North Macedonia in November 2021 during the World Cup qualifying campaign. Introduced as a half-time substitute, she gained valuable experience within a squad that would go on to qualify for the UEFA Women’s Euro the following summer.

After putting pen to paper with the Blues, Rachel said:
“I’m really excited to sign for Linfield and to be working with Ryan again, having known him from his time at Crusaders. I feel this is the right time for me to move on and challenge myself in a new environment at this stage of my career.
“I’m looking forward to the season ahead and the challenges it will bring. The girls have been fantastic so far, and hopefully it will be a successful season in blue.”

Kit Manager Alan Perry has confirmed that Rachel will wear the number 70 shirt for the 2026 season.
