Linfield Football Club are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former player-manager Billy Campbell, who has died at the age of 81.

Campbell was a respected figure in the club’s history, during his time he managed to win one of Linfield’s 57 Irish League titles.

During his playing career he was well known for his work down the right wing. Billy also featured for Hamilton Accies, Dundee, Sunderland and Motherwell.

Linfield extends its deepest condolences to Billy’s family, friends, and all who knew him at this difficult time.

His contribution to the club will always be remembered, and he will remain an important part of Linfield’s proud history.
