Linfield FC are delighted to confirm that promising young striker Charlie Chapman has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.
The 20-year-old forward has enjoyed an impressive spell out on loan with Queen’s University AFC over the past two seasons, playing a key role in the club achieving its highest-ever league finish last campaign. Chapman also made a strong impact in front of goal, netting nine times during an excellent season of development.
A product of the Linfield Development sides, Chapman’s recent performances have attracted interest from clubs across the top two divisions, underlining the progress he has made in recent years.
Blues boss David Healy believes the striker has a bright future ahead and is pleased to see him continue his journey at Windsor Park.
David Healy MBE said:
“We’re really pleased that Charlie has committed his future to the club. Over the past two seasons at Queen’s, he’s shown excellent development both physically and as a player, and that experience has been very important for him.
“Charlie is a big, strong centre-forward with a good attitude and a willingness to improve every day. His performances have rightly attracted interest from other clubs, which shows the progress he’s making.
“He’s still very young, but we believe he has the attributes to continue developing into a very good player for Linfield. We’re looking forward to working with him again and seeing how he progresses over the next year.”
