On Friday night past the Linfield boys academy held our annual awards night I the Crowne Plaza at Shaws Bridge. It was a very successful and enjoyable evening which was attended by around 350 players, coaches, directors, first team staff and parents.

The players were all awarded with their trophies and medals from various successes throughout the season. There was players player of the year and leading goalscorers individual awards handed out to each age group. There was also 7 players who were presented with their international recognition awards for being selected for the Victory Shield squad. It was also a night where we bid a farewell to Aodhan Docherty, Ceadach O’Neill, Scott Hamilton and Braiden Graham who are all moving to England to further their careers ,we wish all the boys the best of luck in their new adventures.

We also had the opportunity to present two prestigious awards, the Frankie Taylor and James Elliott wards. The Frankie Taylor award was presented to Michael Jones for his huge continued support to the Academy over a number of years.

The James Elliott award was presented to Jude Cargill. Jude has been at the academy for a number of years and has shown the desire to improve and work on his game to be able to compete at a high level.

 

A great night was had by all and again the service and meal supplied by the staff at the Crowne Plaza was exemplary.
