Linfield FC are now inviting applications for their 2026/27 full-time football scholarship scheme, offering young players a unique opportunity to combine education with elite-level football development.

The scholarship provides a professional environment where students can train every day, gain valuable qualifications, and even work directly with Linfield manager David Healy and the club’s first team.

The programme has already proven to be a successful pathway for several players who have progressed into professional football. Current Linfield first team members Josh Archer, Chris McKee, Ethan McGee, David Walsh, Ryan McKay, and Charlie Chapman all began their journeys through the scholarship. Former graduates Aodhan Doherty (now at Blackburn Rovers) and Trai Hume (now at Sunderland) further highlight the strength of the scheme as a proven route into the professional game.

Most recently, Jon Graham became the latest scholar to sign a professional contract with Linfield — another example of the programme’s success in nurturing homegrown talent.

This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring footballers who dream of developing their skills within a professional setup while continuing their education.
