Linfield FC are delighted to announce the signing of 20-year-old midfielder Charlie Allen, most recently of Leeds United, on a two-year contract.
Charlie will be no stranger to Linfield fans having previously held the record of the youngest player to ever play for the men’s senior team.
Allen, a product of the Linfield Academy, came up through the ranks attracting interest from top clubs across the water, eventually securing a move to Leeds United in August of 2020. He would go on to play a key role for Leeds U18s and U21s as well as earning numerous caps for Northern Ireland underage groups including 8 for the U21 side. Towards the end of his tenure at Leeds, Charlie also went on loan to National League side York City.
Linfield Manager David Healy welcomed Charlie back to the club:
“It’s great to have Charlie back at the club, a player I know very well and just how much talent he has. Charlie brings an extra creative spark to our midfield and will excite fans when he gets on the ball. He has been training with us for a number of weeks and has bedded well into the squad and we look forward to working with him to further his development this season.”
