Linfield Football Club are delighted to announce that goalkeeper Chris Johns has signed a new two-year contract extension, keeping him at Windsor Park until the summer of 2028.
Johns, who first joined Linfield in 2020, has been a key figure between the posts over the past six years, establishing himself as one of the Irish Premiership’s most consistent and dependable goalkeepers.
Since arriving from Coleraine, the 30-year-old shot-stopper has been instrumental in Linfield’s domestic success, contributing to multiple league titles, Irish Cup victories, and European campaigns.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Johns expressed his pride in committing his future to the club:
“Linfield has been a massive part of my career and my life over the past six years. It’s a privilege to represent this club, and I’m delighted to continue that journey. We’ve achieved a lot together, but there’s still plenty more we want to do, especially in terms of bringing more silverware back to Windsor.”
Manager David Healy also welcomed the news:
“Chris has been outstanding for us since he arrived in 2020. A top professional and a key example in the dressing room. His performances over the years speak for themselves, and securing him for another two seasons is a big boost for the squad. Chris spent some time on the bench last year but has shown real resilience and hard work to get himself back into the side over the summer.”
“We’re delighted to have him committed to the club for the next two seasons and I’m confident he’ll continue to play a big role for us going forward.”
