Linfield FC are delighted to announce that Daniel Finlayson has agreed a one-year contract to remain at the club for season 2023/24 and which will take effect upon the expiry of his loan spell from St Mirren at the end of the current season, subject to the completion of the international clearance formalities.
The 22-year-old has played 52 games in the 2022/23 season, with his consistent performances earning him a place in the NIFL team of the year.
The former Northern Ireland under 21 can play right back or centre half, having started his career at Rangers, before moving to St Mirren.
David Healy underlined his delight at securing Daniel’s signature,
“Daniel has performed consistently for us this season. He is strong defensively and shows a professional attitude to training and match preparation. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with him, as he develops further.”
Daniel Finlayson commented,
“I am very pleased to extend my stay at Windsor Park. I feel my game has improved since working under David Healy and his coaching staff. I’m looking forward to pre-season and rejoining the squad after a break. Belfast is a great city and I’m delighted to spend another year, playing at this great club.”
