Recently, an event took place to mark the retirement of Dr Cameron Ramsey as a Board member of the club. Cameron was first introduced to Linfield by the late, famed Belfast Telegraph journalist Dr Malcolm Brodie, beginning an association with the club that would span four decades.

Dr Ramsey took up the position of club doctor in 1985, a role he fulfilled with dedication and professionalism until 2006. Throughout those years, he became a trusted and respected figure within the club, providing expert care to generations of players while contributing to the success and wellbeing of the Linfield family.

In 1989, Dr Ramsey’s commitment and character were further recognised when he was invited to become a Trustee of the club. He later went on to serve with distinction as a club director, helping guide Linfield through many significant periods in its modern history.

During the celebratory evening marking his retirement, many heartfelt tributes were paid to Cameron. Among the most notable was that of legendary former manager David Jeffrey MBE, who spoke warmly of Dr Ramsey’s professionalism, humility, and the quiet but vital role he played behind the scenes in some of the club’s most successful years.

In recognition of his outstanding service, Linfield President Peter Lunn MBE was delighted to announce that the Board had unanimously elected Dr Ramsey as an Honorary Vice-President of the club. This honour reflects not only his years of dedication but also the lasting impact he has made on Linfield both on and off the pitch.

Everyone at Linfield FC extends their sincere gratitude for his remarkable contribution and wishes him every happiness and good health in the years ahead.
