There were a total of 8 former Linfield players named in Michael O’Neill’s Northern Ireland team to face Luxembourg at Windsor Park last night, another proud moment for the club. No Northern Irish football club has made a greater contribution to the national team than Linfield, showing the ongoing success and strength of the academy and development route at the football club.
Northern Ireland defeated Luxembourg 2-0 in their first Nation’s League match, with former Linfield Academy captain and first team player Trai Hume captaining the side for the first time.
