Concerns over the Windsor Park pitch were eased this morning after a scheduled inspection at 10am confirmed the surface is fit for play.

As a result, today’s Sports Direct Premiership fixture between Linfield and Ballymena United will go ahead as planned at Windsor Park.

Recent weather conditions had raised doubts over the state of the pitch, but officials were satisfied following their assessment, giving the green light for the match to proceed.

Supporters can now look forward to this afternoon’s Sports Direct Premiership clash with Ballymena United as scheduled.
