Linfield hit the road for Matchday 3 of the Sports Direct Premiership, travelling to Lurgan to face Glenavon at Mourneview Park (7.45pm k.o.). In the most recent meeting of the sides in Co. Armagh the points were shared in a 2-2 draw.
Glenavon have lost both of their opening league fixtures, 0-2 at Carrick Rangers and 1-2 at home to Cliftonville. Amongst the new arrivals at club is the experienced Keith Ward, a midfielder with over 300 games under his belt in the League of Ireland, and an interesting talking point has been the decision to narrow the pitch at Mourneview Park by 6 metres.
Linfield continued their winning start to the season with a 3-1 win over a resolute Dungannon Swifts side at Windsor Park. The Blues hit 3 quality goals inside 8 minutes of the first half, the pick of these a sweet volley from Kyle McClean.
David Healy will, as usual, prepare for a tough night at Mourneview Park and the game could well be won or lost in the middle of the park.
Hopefully an away day win for the Blues that keeps them in pole position in the Premiership table.
