Linfield FC Women are delighted to announce the signing of experienced defender Hannah Doherty ahead of the 2025 season. The 27-year-old returns to the club from Cliftonville FC, bringing a wealth of experience and a history of substantial trophy success.

Doherty is no stranger to Linfield, having previously enjoyed a highly successful spell at the club, during which she secured every domestic trophy and proudly represented the team in European competition on multiple occasions. Her return marks a significant boost for the squad as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.

Speaking about her return, Doherty expressed her enthusiasm at rejoining Linfield. “I’m really looking forward to the new challenge. We won everything that there was to win in my previous spell at the club and I’ve been involved in successful dressing rooms and winners so I want to bring that back to Linfield. Ryan was a big part of my decision to come back to the club. The effort and willingness the club showed in they want Linfield to be successful again was really attractive to me. I want to get some silverware back on the table.”

Linfield FC Women’s Head Coach Ryan McConville also welcomed the signing, emphasizing the defender’s qualities both on and off the pitch. “Hannah is a fantastic player and a true professional. Her experience, leadership, and ability will be invaluable to the team as we look to grow on the progress the club made last season. We’re thrilled to have her back and look forward to seeing her in action.”

Doherty’s return is set to strengthen Linfield’s defensive line as the club aims to push on from our growth in the 2024 season.
