Linfield Football Club today celebrates the 100th birthday of one of our longest serving supporters, Stanley McIlroy.
Born during the reign of King George V, Stanley has been a Season Ticket holder for almost 70 years and was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list of 2016 for charitable services, having raised over £1million, mainly for Cancer Research UK.
There was none prouder than Stanley, who lives in East Belfast, when he was presented with his award by Prince William, now Duke of Cornwall, at Buckingham Palace on 6th December 2016.
Everyone at Linfield Football Club would like to wish Stanley a very Happy 100th Birthday.
