Linfield manager David Healy says his side are relishing the challenge of facing league-leaders Coleraine tonight, as the Blues prepare for another big test in the Sports Direct Premiership.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Healy acknowledged the quality of Ruaidhrí Higgins’ side and the noise they’ve generated across the league this season.
“Yeah, we do [look forward to it],” Healy said. “It’s another tough ask, a tough game, but one that we’ll certainly embrace. We’ll try to enjoy it and look forward to the challenge.”
Coleraine have earned plaudits for their performances so far this campaign, with the Linfield boss full of respect for their progress and ambition.
“Everybody’s talking about Coleraine this year,” he continued. “The thing about this league is that when a new ‘Larne’ comes on the scene, a lot of neutrals get excited because they may not have been in the mix before or won trophies. It’s good for the league, and we’ve got to embrace that challenge.”
Healy also praised the work being done behind the scenes at The Showgrounds.
“Coleraine have invested well,” he said. “They’ve got a really good squad of players and a manager who I respect and have known for quite a long time. We look forward to it.”
Linfield head into tonight looking to continue on our win over Ballymena this past week, while Coleraine will be aiming to make a statement against the defending champions.
Kick-off at the Coleraine Showgrounds is set for 7.45pm this evening.
