Linfield Football Club is saddened to report the death of Jackie Patterson, a full back who spent 10 years at the club from 1964, having signed from Ards.

With more than 20 winner’s medals from over 350 games, Jackie was a member of the team who won the Irish Cup in 1970 and played in both legs of the famous European Cup Winners’ Cup tie with Manchester City later that year. He had also played his part in the club’s run to the Quarter Finals of the European Cup in 1966/67.
