Linfield Football Club sends condolences to the family of lifelong Blueman, Billy McDowell, who recently passed away in a Bangor nursing home aged 84.

Billy, a former Royal Navy sailor originally from Shankill Road, was badly injured along with his wife Lily in the La Mon massacre in February 1978. 

He never lost his fervour for Linfield, and this was mentioned by Rev. James Rogers at his funeral service in Newtownards.
