Everyone at Linfield Football Club is saddened to hear of the passing of lifelong Blueman, Billy Ireland. Billy was originally from the Shankill Road area of Belfast and has been supporting the Blues for over 80 years. He worked in Belfast Power Station East and lived most of his life in the Belvoir Park estate before he and his wife moved to a nursing home. Billy was both a season ticket and a premier seat holder and was a faithful member of the Forever Blue group. I met him briefly in the nursing home last week when we had a short time reminiscing about his beloved Blues.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Lily, son Colin and daughter Carol at this sad time.
