Linfield FC Women this week bid a fond farewell to long serving defender, Louise McFrederick who has headed off to a “new life” in the USA.
Louise joined Linfield in 2013 from Fermanagh Mallards and the popular and loyal club stalwart helped Linfield secure 4 Premier League titles, 3 Irish Cup triumphs, 2 League Cup and 4 County Antrim Shield successes. She competed in 4 UEFA Champions League campaigns with Linfield.
On a memorable Windsor Park night in 2016, Louise replaced an injured Nicole Adams in goals for the last quarter of the game, to see Linfield home 2-1 in the Irish Cup final against Cliftonville. She is pictured below with the trophy after that game.
29 year old Louise gave her all for Linfield in every game and at a farewell get together last weekend, she was presented with a souvenir Belfast crystal gift to acknowledge her excellent service to the club over many years.
Everyone at Linfield FC thanks “Freddy” for her major contribution to the success of the squad during her time at the club and best wishes are extended to her, as she embarks on this exciting new adventure.
