BOXING DAY DERBY: LINFIELD V GLENTORAN

Linfield are in midweek league action back on home soil with Crusaders the welcome visitors to Windsor Park (7.45pm k.o. all-ticket).

Crusaders have endured a difficult campaign and occupy 10th place in the Sports Direct Premiership table. The Achilles Heel for the Shore Road outfit has been poor home form with a return of just one league win at Seaview. Manager Declan Caddell will, however. be delighted with the stellar form of former Ayr United striker Fraser Bryden who has already fired home 13 goals this season, including a 4-goal salvo in the recent home win over basement club Glenavon.

Linfield striker Matthew Fitzpatrick took his goal tally into double figures at the weekend in a hard fought 1-0 win over a robust Bangor side at Clandeboye Park. The Blues remain focused and  determined to keep making ground on the top three in a title race from which no clear favourite is yet to emerge. Hopefully David Healy’s men can bank another 3 crucial points under the Windsor floodlights.
