In an exciting development for fans, Linfield FC can announce that it will be live streaming all home matches for the upcoming season. This initiative aims to bring the thrill of the game to supporters who are no longer able to make it to Windsor Park for match days.
The club’s decision to provide live streaming comes in response to increasing demand from our fan base. Previously, the club has used assistance and equipment from external production companies to provide live streaming solutions, however the club will now provide all live-streaming production completely in-house after investments in equipment, training and platform development have been made.
BBC NI will still be broadcasting a number of Linfield’s home matches meaning that Linfield TV will not be streaming those matches due to conflicts of interest.
Social Media and Marketing Officer Matt Wright commented:
“It’s exciting to be able to bring live streaming of all domestic league and cup matches to the club for the season ahead. Being able to now produce the live streams in-house allows us to stream on a more permanent basis both in-terms of financial sustainability and with a more authentic Linfield production. We have already announced the addition of Match Day Live to the Linfield digital match day experience and we hope now having a solution that fans can access every home match either via ourselves or the BBC will be of great benefit, especially to those who can’t make it to Windsor Park regularly. Thanks to Linfield TV's Jamesy Robertson, Jonny Martin and the board for their co-operation in making this happen.”
The first live Linfield TV broadcast will take place on Saturday 17th August against Dungannon Swifts, with Jonny Martin and Matthew Tipton on commentary.
Further details to follow in the coming days.
