Linfield FC are pleased to announce the signing of 17-year-old Matthew Orr to a professional contract, his first professional football contract. The young defender, who has broken into the first squad this pre-season and European campaign is now set to play a role in David Healy’s side for the season ahead.
Orr has played for Linfield from Under-16 level and featured in Michael Gault’s Linfield Swifts side for most of last season as well as representing Northern Ireland at youth U-17 international level.
He was brought into the first-team fold by David Healy this summer where he traveled with the team to both Poland and Iceland as well as making his competitive debut against Stjarnan in the UEFA Conference League, managing to get himself on the scoresheet in his first appearance for the club.
