Linfield made the long trip up to the North-West this afternoon to take on Newbuildings United at the Community Centre ground.
The Linfield party was warmly received with a guard of honour as chairman Roy McGivern was first off the team bus with the Gibson cup.
A strong Linfield side, again, received a guard of honour onto the pitch.
The away side went one up after 16 minutes when Alex Watson slotted home with a left foot strike from the edge of the box.
Kieron Offord added two in quick succession; A side foot effort after a cross from the right doubled the score after 23 minutes, and it was 3 when Rhys Annett crossed from the same side and Offord slotted home!
Just after the half hour, it was 4-0 when Rhys Annett fired home after a great run down the left wing by Alex Watson.
Just before the break, Newbuildings got an early consolation when their number 7 capitalised on a parry from David Walsh.

Rhys Annett made it 5-1,17 mins into the second half, with a screamer into the top corner!
Linfield made a number of subs midway in the second half with Kirk Millar and Callum Morrison replacing Offord and McKay. Shortly after, Darragh Rooney, Matthew Orr, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Ben Hall and Ethan McGee replaced Scott Whiteside David Walsh, Dane McCullough, Sam Roscoe and Rhys Annett.
Seven minutes from time, Callum Morisson lobbed the keeper from the right-hand side of the box, and Chris McKee finished the scoring-three minutes from
time-after cutting inside and firing home!
