Congratulations to our 2011’s who won the NIBFA Cup this afternoon after a thrilling 3-2 win over Crusaders FC.

 

The Blues enjoyed some early possession from the start but couldn’t find an opening goal. It was a Noah Henderson goal from a Jamie Hamilton corner which broke the deadlock 5min before the break, ensuring a 1-0 lead at half-time.

 

The second half saw Crusaders start as the brighter of the two sides. They were rewarded with a goal midway through the half.

 

1-1 at full-time and the game headed to extra-time. A quick goal from range after the restart saw Crusaders take the lead for the first time in the game.

 

At 2-1 down, the Wee Blues didn’t give up. Into the second half of extra-time, with only 5min left, Micah Bailie converted from close range, assisted by Oliver May-McCombe to make it 2-2.

 

With a minute to go, Linfield were awarded a penalty after Dara Donnan was fouled in the box. A cool, calm, and collected Jamie Hamilton converted to put the Bluemen 3-2 up!
