Saturday’s feast of football at Midgley Park started with victories for the U14s and U15s, followed by a Steel & Sons Cup tie for the Swifts.

Somehow or other, a dominant Swifts side found themselves 1-3 down as the game approached injury time (Rhys Annett had scored a second half equaliser), before a quick fire treble, 1 from Kalum Thompson and 2 goals from captain Rhys McGarry, secured a place in the next round of the competition.
