Linfield FC is delighted to announce that young left-back Ryan McKay has signed a new two-year contract extension with the club.

McKay, who joined Linfield from Dundela in January 2023, has shown great potential despite facing a challenging spell with injuries. The 20-year-old defender has demonstrated his quality whenever he has taken to the pitch, making a valuable contribution to the team.

Speaking about his new deal, McKay expressed his gratitude to the club for their continued faith in him.

“I’m thrilled to extend my stay at Linfield,” he said. “It’s been a tough period with injuries, but the club has supported me every step of the way. I’m eager to get back on the pitch consistently and help the team achieve success. Personally I want to work hard and make sure I can play more over the next two-years.”

Manager David Healy praised McKay’s attitude and potential, emphasizing his importance to the squad.

“Ryan is a talented young player with a lot to offer. He’s been unfortunate with injuries, but his work ethic and determination have both been outstanding. We believe he has a bright future here at Linfield, and we’re excited to see him continue his development over the next two years.”

Ryan’s contract extension will see him remain at the club until the summer of 2027.
