Linfield Swifts took on Big Two rivals Glentoran II in the NIFL Premiership Development League on Monday night at a mild Midgley Park.

After a good start from the Blues, it was a Rhys Annett strike that put Linfield in control of the first half early on.

Kenzie Beattie added a second with 20 minutes to go. A rocket of a volley that the keeper got a hand to but couldn’t keep out. The Glens would score late on, directly from a corner kick but it wasn’t enough to mount a come back.

This win sends the Swifts 7 points clear at the top of the NIFL PDL. A trip to Inver Park on Monday night awaits.
