A central defender from Omagh, Hall joined Linfield from Falkirk on January 31, 2022.He’s represented Northern Ireland U21s five times at international level.

Hall started out his footballing journey at Mountjoy United before progressing in youth football with the Dungannon United Youth Academy before catching the eye of Motherwell FC. The defender signed for SPFL Premiership side Motherwell on a two-year deal in 2013 and established himself as a regular in their U20 team at the age of 16, with some of those appearances coming under former Northern Ireland defender Stephen Craigan. ‘Well first team manager Mark McGhee handed Hall a first team debut for Motherwell on 12 December, 2015 in a 3-1 home win over Dundee at the age of 18. Hall scored his first senior goal a couple of weeks later in a 2-0 win over St Johnstone. He scored once in 19 appearances for Motherwell.

Hall’s impressive breakthrough season at Motherwell saw him earn a transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion for an undisclosed fee on a two-year deal. He went into the Seagulls’ U21 team, playing alongside the likes of current Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, Rangers defender Connor Goldson, Arsenal defender Ben White and long-serving Brighton midfielder Solly March. Brighton took up the option of extending his contract by a further year in 2018, however a senior debut wasn’t forthcoming before he departed the club in 2019.

Whilst at Brighton, he was loaned out to Notts County in EFL League Two for the second half of the 2017-18 season, arriving on deadline day. Hall picked up County’s Player of the Month award in March 2018 and impressed in his 11 appearances, losing only twice as Notts County finished in fifth place – so much so, that former West Ham midfielder Kevin Nolan brought him back to Meadow Lane on loan for the 2018-19 season. However, a frustrating season with injuries meant Hall returned to Brighton without kicking a ball in the entire season, and he was then released at the end of the season.

A return to Scotland was on the cards as Hall made the move to Gary Caldwell’s Partick Thistle on August 26, 2019 following a successful trial, but he was limited to just five appearances for the SPFL Championship outfit. He won four of the five matches he played for Thistle before his short-term deal came to an end at the beginning of the January 2020 transfer window.

A move to Falkirk would follow, initially joining the Bairns on a short-term deal. He made an immediate impact with a brace on his debut in a 6-0 win over Forfar before cementing his place at the heart of Falkirk’s back four in SPFL League One. He went on to make 49 appearances for the club, scoring four goals, before leaving by mutual consent on January 31, 2022.

Later on January 31, 2022, Linfield announced the deadline day signing of the Omagh native on a two-and-a-half year deal. He made his debut four days later in a 2-0 Irish Cup sixth round defeat away to Larne and nailed down a starting spot before scoring his first goal for the Blues which proved to be a title-winning goal on the final day of the 2021-22 season as Linfield defeated Coleraine 2-0 at Windsor Park to beat Cliftonville to the title by a point.

At the beginning of the next season, Hall was a regular in the Linfield team that got to the play-off round of the UEFA Conference League, only to suffer heartbreak at the hands of RFS Riga by way of a penalty shoot-out defeat. It was a double blow for Hall, who had been taking injections to play through injury in the hope that he could help Linfield seize an opportunity to create history, however it wasn’t to be, and then defender was subsequently on the sidelines from August 2022 until February 2023 with a pelvic injury. He was limited to just three domestic appearances in the 22/23 season and was an unused substitute as the Blues defeated Coleraine 2-0 to win the NIFL League Cup in March 2023.

With a good pre-season under his belt, Hall re-found his fitness and form to nail down a starting spot again in the 2023-24 season. He scored his first European goal in a 5-2 UEFA Conference League defeat to Pogon Szczezin at Windsor Park, and scored an important goal in a 2-0 home win over Glentoran in the Boxing Day derby as he headed in the opener. Hall then scored another big goal on another big occasion as he headed in the opener in the NIFL League Cup final as Linfield defeated Portadown 3-1 to make it back-to-back League Cup successes.
