Linfield Chairman, Roy McGivern:

“I am aware that he also helped out with many of our other teams at the club and he accompanied us to Flanders with the Linfield Academy on a number of our memorable pilgrimages to remember the Linfield Fallen.
Andy also served in the Forces himself and he was such a wonderful character to have around the club.”
“He remained a loyal supporter and regular visitor to Windsor Park in recent times and he will be sorely missed by everyone at the club. We convey our deepest sympathy to his family and, in particular, to his brother and former Club Chairman and Honorary Vice President Jim Kerr.”
Linfield Head of Youth Academy, Glenn Ferguson:

Linfield Manager, David Healy:
“Today we received the sad news regarding the loss of wee Andy.”
“We spent many times together in my early days as manager and I learned so much about the responsibility attached to being the manager of our great football club. So much help and guidance and always a quiet word of encouragement when needed. He will be sorely missed by myself and the complete backroom staff. The players still in the dressing room who had the privilege to spend time with Andy when he was with us, will also miss him dearly.”
“We were delighted to see Andy in our dressing room on Friday night down at Ballymena like the old days. Laughing, joking and enjoying being around his Linfield family. A proud man, a Linfield man to the end and we as a football club should celebrate what he has given in terms of 50 years service. Rest easy wee man ”
Linfield Boys Academy, Scott Boyd:
“It is with great sadness and sorrow that I, on behalf of the Linfield FC Academy have been asked to pay tribute to a club legend, friend, role-model and football ambassador who is Mr Andrew Kerr MBE.”
“Andy was a friend to many, and was loved by our players, parents, staff and coaches across the age groups and was admired across the entire Linfield family.”
“In writing this tribute I will always remember Andy as a person who loved the game, loved to travel, loved his club, loved his family and loved the fun and good times which we all shared. Andy will be truly missed by us all at the Academy, the term “Legend” truly represents a man who was kind, committed, loving, empathetic and supportive to all who knew him. I remember a time when the 2002 academy team played a friendship game against a team from Belgium, when I first saw their players they all seemed around 6ft tall and I thought this was going to be difficult, Andy looked at me and said, “We are Linfield, play your football son and they won’t get near you, trust the boys and your ability and they won’t lay a glove on you”. Hence to say he was right as we won the game comfortably and this memory is one that I will remember for the rest of my life.”
“Mr Kerr, we thank you for your commitment shown to Linfield FC over many decades and for the love, memories and times that we had the privilege of sharing with you, you will be forever in our hearts and we will never forget you, you will be truly missed and we love and respect you very much. God bless my friend.”
Linfield Kit Manager, Gary Eccles:
“My dear friend for over 40 years has left this world. The European trips, the family holidays we had together with you and Jenny are precious memories. We have been all over the world together and these were great great times.
“I am so glad we seen you on Friday night and our call together on Saturday. Andy was like Kenny McKeague, both of them were like a Father to me. He give his whole life to Linfield Football Club. He truly is, a Linfield legend. One of his proudest moments was when Jim became Chairman of Linfield. Everyone he met loved him and thought the world of him. My thoughts are with Penny, Kirsti, Chloe and the late Justin. Along with his Grandchildren, Oliver and Erin and his brother Jim.”
“Andy is now with Jenny his beautiful wife who he adored, and his great friend Kenny McKeague. Love from Gary, Tanya, Zara, Josh and Rebekah. I loved you so much Andy until we meet again.”
