Linfield involvement in the 2024 Victory Shield competition continued with Calum Anderson,  Finlay Ross and Jay Longridge starting against hosts Scotland. Sonny Trainor and Jack May were on the bench. 

The game was tight from start to finish and Northern Ireland won 1-0, which means that victory over Republic of Ireland on Sunday would see the Victory Shield trophy return to Belfast.
