On Monday afternoon Linfield President, Peter Lunn MBE, director, Stephen Shaw and ambassadors and club legends, Eric Bowyer and Alan Fraser visited Linfield fan, Stanley McIlroy in his east Belfast home. Stanley celebrated his 100th birthday on 15 February 2024. Originally from Bangor, Stanley initially worked as a pharmacist at a chemist on the Donegall Road and it was there that his lifetime love for Linfield was birthed. He has fond memories of Tommy Dickson, the Nixon twins and Jackie Milburn amongst others. He has led a full and well travelled life and was awarded an MBE in 2016 for his charity work which was presented to him by Prince William. On the same date Peter Lunn was also presented with his MBE.
On Monday we were joined by Stanley’s great-nephew, Alan Henning, who is a coach at the Linfield Academy. Stephen Shaw
