Linfield FC are delighted to announce that midfielder Chris Shields has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

The 35-year-old midfielder has once again committed his future to the Blues, extending his stay at Windsor Park by another year and continuing his role as a key figure both on and off the pitch.

Since joining Linfield in 2021, Shields has been an influential presence within the squad, bringing a lot of experience to the middle of the park. His impact has been reflected in a number of trophy successes during his time at the club, while his performances and standards have made him a key figure in the dressing room.

Manager David Healy welcomed the news, adding:

His influence and experience goes far beyond matchdays, he sets standards every single day even while injured and is a real leader within our group. We’re very pleased that we have been able to agree to extend his stay with us as he continues to return from injury.”
