Dessie had been a member of our Club for around the last 5 years (having previously been a member of the Belmont and South Belfast clubs) and rarely missed a match until recent times when his mobility was affected. Whilst most of us have allegiances to other teams from across the water Dessie devoted his football loyalty to one team, and one team only, Linfield and it was with immense pleasure that he got to see them win number 57 in such great fashion. He was a quiet unassuming man and was seen regularly in the company of his great friend Sam Clarke. As well as their love for Linfield they also followed the Northern Ireland international team together home and away.

 

He is survived by his wife Maureen, daughters Natalie and Martina and mother Grace. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
