Linfield Swifts shared the points with Glentoran II on Monday night, playing out a 1–1 draw at Ashfield Boys HS in the NIFL Premiership Development League.
The Swifts made a bright start and enjoyed plenty of early possession, but it was the visitors who struck first from the penalty spot to take a narrow lead into the interval.
Linfield responded with purpose after the break and were rewarded when Zach Anderson produced a composed, well-taken finish to bring the hosts level. Buoyed by the equaliser, Michael Gault’s young Blues pushed forward in search of a winner, applying sustained pressure, but were unable to find a way past a resolute Glentoran side, who currently sit top of the league.
A spirited performance earned the Swifts a deserved point against the current league leaders.
