Linfield switch to BetMcLean Cup action as Glentoran travel to Windsor Park (7.45pm k.o. all-ticket) and the winners of the tie will go to Ballymena United on 17th December in the quarter final of the competition.
Glentoran have had a season punctuated by inconsistent form that leaves them off the pace in the title race, sitting 5th in the league table, and in their last outing they came from behind to secure a point at Loughgall (2-2). Top scorer this season is David Fisher with 5 goals.
Linfield head into December buoyed by a 7 point lead at the top of the Sports Direct Premiership table. On Saturday The Blues edged past visitors Portadown, a brace of goals early in the second half from Chris McKee securing full points in a tightly contested encounter.
In the lead up to the game the usual high levels of anticipation and excitement will brew up amongst both sets of supporters. David Healy and his players will be determined to keep a tight grip on the trophy they lifted in last season's final against Portadown.
Glentoran manager Declan Devine will be equally determined to make sure his players pull off a winning performance in this derby game. Something will have to give in another massive night of football under the Windsor Park floodlights.
